Modest 4x4 Club

2008 Maple Mud Runs

After the parade on the 27th, I took Sammi and John along with me and the Modest 4x4 Club treated us to a sampling of the trails up in Bakersfield.

It was nice to be out on the trails, and also nice being out there with 4 other vehicles that knew the trails.

TThe first trail had a good share of mud.  Everyone made it through fine, but Brian decided to try again.  We ended up having to get two rigs to pull his Silverado out.

The second trail was pretty dry, but had some nice ledges that took some careful driving to make it up.  That said, Butch made it up in his bone stock Chevy with minimal crapage.  Butch is in the red truck, he only got hung up on the way down when he was trying to allow another truck to pass by.

Brian's Silverado is running 35 inch rubbers.  They got the truck stuck so deep you couldn't see the tires anymore.

Finally I was treated to what they have dubded Axle Alley.  Its a simple looking ledge about 20 feet tall, which is rather difficult to navigate.  Only two trucks have ever made it up.  I have some video's of the Alley, but no photo's.  Those will be posted here in the next couple days, so check back.
